KAZUHIKO YUKIMI Thobari's "friendship" with Yukimi can be summed up as 'stockholm syndrome' meets 'unfriendly rivalry.' The two did not get along at all during high school; Thobari was always the subject to Yukimi's pranks and jokes. Yet, somehow, Thobari managed to see through all that and maybe kind of sorta enjoyed the attention he got from his older classmate. Back then Tobi was shy, so it wasn't easy for him to make friends. Not the best place to start, obviously, but nowadays they're working on it. Thobari worries and frets over Yukimi's failure to talk about his feelings, and Yukimi... he cares about Thobari too. Sorta. Unfortunately, despite being amicable for most of school-year, Yukimi and Thobari got into a fight near the end of the summer, thanks to Thobari catching a glimpse of Yukimi's less than stylish tattoo. Recognizing it as the the tattoo his Grandfather's killers had, it didn't take a genius to realize that Yukimi was a Death Eater---part of the same group that caused the whole mess that ruined Thobari's life ten years ago. Terrified, insulted and completely appalled for being friends with one of them, Thobari got into a fistfight with Yukimi, demanded he break up with Maron and delivered an ultimatum that summed up to; "WE'RE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE!" ...Of course, Thobari's spent too many years as Yukimi's friend to stop loving him turn him in or anything, so he'll just keep an eye on him for now. And pray that he's wrong and Yukimi is actually not evil on the inside. Teacher • DADA • Estranged Friends

MARON KUSAKABE Maron and Thobari dated during highschool. It was cute; they met in the library, made out in quiet corridors, that sort of thing. Unfortunately, after Thobari's incident ten years ago, he was feeling way too sad and depressed to stay with her, so they broke it off. Having returned to Hogwarts, however, the two became fast friends again and although Thobari still harbored some old feelings for her, he quickly gave up on them once he found out she was really in love with Yukimi. All he wants is for her to be happy, so if that means nudging and nosing into her and Yukimi's relationship, then so be it. Teacher • Arithmancy • Best Friends

CASTIEL Thobari met Castiel over ten years ago, when he was just another young Gryffindor in Hogwarts; a young angsty Gryffindor. It just so happens that it was around the time when Thobari had witnessed the death of his grandfather and neighbors. The first few months, it wasn't uncommon for Thobari to hole himself up in the owlry and just cry. Pathetic, yes, but he also happened to meet Castiel on one of these days. Castiel happened to need an owl feather for a spell, Thobari helped him and, well... it all escalated from there. Over the next two years, Thobari, who was somewhat reclusive and emo despondent to everyone else, but he helped out Castiel with all sorts of magic and spells aimed at putting the ghost "to rest." Not all of the spells were wholesome, let's just say, but Thobari was willing to do anything to learn more. He couldn't make Auror, maybe, but if he could master what Castiel taught him, he'd have an advantage in getting a job at the Ministry. That was the plan, anyway. Ten years later, Thobari is back at Hogwarts. A changed man, he's stronger now; strong enough to smile instead of mope all the time. He'd learned a thing or two about life and the world. Although the magic Castiel taught him was very 'edge-of-the-law,' it ultimately helped him qualify for his position in DADA. As such, Thobari feels like he owes Castiel a lot, even if those last two years aren't exactly filled with happy memories. He may be a little gruff and hard to talk to, but Thobari knows Castiel is really a good person on the inside (then again, Thobari assumes this about everyone). He's one of the few people who knows Thobari's past, and alternately, Thobari is one of the few who knows Castiel's. They are friends, believe it or not, and the feeling is mutual. GABRIEL Gabriel and Thobari didn't exactly get off to a good start (understatemet). First there was the fact that Castiel specifically instructed Thobari to avoid him, and then there was the matter of Thobari knowing that Gabe was the one brother who got away, which obviously meant he was ignoring that request. When Thobari first met him, he thought he was completely intimidating, as he was the man that Castiel seems to both admire and despise. But upon further interaction, Thobari found that he doesn't understand how Gabriel can be such a jerk compared to Castiel (who can be a jerk, but not on purpose) and all in all, their personalities clash at every encounter. Gabriel insults Thobari at every opportunity, calling him "twitchy," "spineless," or just making a fool of him, really. He's a lot like Yukimi was in high school, but baiting you to see you squirm, rather than just make you miserable. Still, the family matter bothered Thobari, seeing as how Castiel was improving before Gabriel arrived. However, every time Thobari tried to get him and Cas to talk, Gabriel would snuff him out. It turns out though, Gabriel is just really good at derailing a conversation and avoiding anything serious. But even Cas got touchy around the subject. It was obvious that these two would never talk under normal means, so... Thobari locked Gabe and Cas in a dungeon so they'd work out their issues. Using the Blood Magic Castiel taught him himself. Divine justice indeed. Although the two argued and fought at first, they eventually made up and may have actually learned something about each other. That, however, doesn't change the fact that Thobari held them against their will in a room for a couple days with nothing more to do than star at each other's faces and flicker between corners of the room.
