[After reading the journal entry, Spencer raced over to where Thobari's office was, creeping as quietly as he could for the last 50 feet. It was different, doing this without backup. Spencer's weapon of choice was usually his brain, preferring to talk suspects out of their behavior rather than force them out of it. This time was different though. No backup, and a suspect who would sooner hex him than listen to anything he had to say. If Spencer's own doppelgänger was any indication, these were morally delinquent individuals. Sociopaths. It's difficult to reason with a true sociopath. But he knew that the spell would be simple. One flick and the suspect would be unconscious. It would buy him about 20 minutes to get Thobari out of the closet and away from here. He could hear him inside the office, rustling papers, while Thobari banged a dull thud somewhere with in. Spencer held his wand at the ready and waited for the precise second.]

[ Thobari-and-not-Thobari turns around, facing the door. He's smiling, though not from fondness in seeing his old friend again. No, He really does owe him a lot; perhaps a little truth can serve to repay him. ]

You think I don't hear you, Spence? That's a laugh. I'm not like your little friend; I was expecting this. That stupid brat wastes all his time hopin' and dreamin', and where's it gotten 'im? Locked in a closet, that's what.

He wouldn't have seen you comin', Spence. But I'm not him. I know the truth; if you don't keep your guard up 24/7, you end up dead in the ground. Or, you know, locked up in a loony bin.
